Self-Reliance

What Is the Self-Reliance Program?

The Lord wants his children to be able to stand on their own two feet and be self-reliant.  We claim integrity when we are able to provide for ourselves, live within our means, and raise our families independent of any outside support from government or ecclesiastical assistance.  To this end, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that with a little help, training, prayer, and self-confidence, any family can become self-reliant.  The Church has organized many self-reliance classes designed around several topics, namely:  (1) Find a Better Job, (2) Education for Better Work, (3) Personal Finances (how to more effectively manage family finances), and (4) Starting and Growing My Business.  The Church has also started offering an Emotional Resilience class for those who feel that they are struggling with mental or emotional debilitations.  Click below to discover more information about each type of class offered in this series.  Know that each class is absolutely free and open to the public.  Above you will see the current course in the series along with where and when it meets.
